Household Ledger · Application Shell

Ten areas. One app.

The old Household/Core distinction is removed. Household Briefing, Daily Command, Communications, Vision, Records, Cash Flow, Assets, Accounts, Matters, and Binder are ten peer destinations inside one Household Ledger application.

Navigation ruleGlobal navigation chooses one of the ten areas. Once inside an area, that area's own tabs/workspaces appear as a second, local navigation layer.

The page content belongs to the selected area. The global rail never changes position, so all ten peer destinations remain continuously reachable.

Local navigation

When you move to Records, Cash Flow, Assets, etc., the horizontal tab strip changes to that area's own internal destinations. It is not another global hierarchy.

Phone content uses the full width. The active global area remains visible in the horizontal area switcher.

Switching areas

Swipe the area strip, then tap Records, Assets, Binder, or any other peer destination. The local tab row beneath it updates for that area.

Deep pages

Opening a Person, Agreement, Vehicle, or Matter changes the content pane but preserves global orientation.

No 10-item bottom bar. Ten peer areas are too many for fixed mobile bottom navigation. Horizontal scrolling avoids inventing a “More” hierarchy or restoring Household/Core.

Desktop: persistent vertical rail for the ten global areas; horizontal tabs belong only to the active area.

Phone: horizontally scrollable global area switcher; local tab strip beneath it; no forced ten-icon bottom navigation.

Decision being tested: whether this two-level navigation should become the React application shell.
